Venezuela's oil exports are actually taller than Iran's for the first time in six years.
US Treasury's OFAC slapped just one tanker with sanctions today but there are still another 217 Iran-linked tankers which haven't yet been placed under sanctions. And 37 of those are VLCCs; one of which is currently laden with 2 million barrels of oil inside Iran.
Today marks three years since the Dark Fleet tanker PABLO (9133587) exploded in the Riau Archipelago, where these tankers conduct daily ship‑to‑ship oil transfers. Empty of oil cargo, a buildup of residual gas ignited during maintenance welding, sending her entire deck airborne.

23yo Aframax tanker APPLE (9271327), which has been slapped with sanctions by the US, EU, UK, CA and CH, completely avoided entering the EEZ of Norway on the way to & from Murmansk, Russia. Now laden with 100,000 MT of crude oil. The fear is real.
For those in doubt, here's another one: VIGOR (9262156). She too is on the OFAC blacklist. Entered the perimeter on 2026-04-25 with AIS on. Her tactic was to hug the Omani coastline. Currently loading oil. She's transported nearly 47 million barrels of Iranian oil since 2021.

Fair assessment; at least in terms of Iran’s current inability to exfiltrate the blockade perimeter with oil. That said, empty tankers have been entering the perimeter. Depending on loading rate, Iran could handle another 4-6 weeks in tanker loadings provided no additional empty
There is another 30yo NITC VLCC which is about to do the same thing. A third such VLCC is also being monitored. Mind you, the loading times by these old tankers is quite long; most likely out of precaution given their conditions. Should have been scrapped 10-15 years ago.

Infrared allows you to quickly determine how much content there is within a storage tank due to the mismatch in temp between the fuel (white) and the tank it sits in. The remaining tanks look empty, which explains why they struck this one. Nighttime is the right time to strike.
